Objective
To evaluate outcomes of endoscopic iliopsoas fractional lengthening (IFL) in patients with iliopsoas tendinitis after total hip arthroplasty (THA).
Methodology
A retrospective analysis of 17 patients who underwent IFL after failing conservative treatment following THA, with a minimum of 2 years of follow-up.
Key Findings
- Significant improvements in all patient-reported outcomes.
- 88.2% of patients met the Patient Acceptable Symptom State (PASS) criteria.
- No loss of hip range of motion or muscle weakness post-surgery.
Conclusion
Endoscopic IFL is a safe and effective procedure for patients with iliopsoas impingement following THA, providing pain relief without affecting hip movement or strength.
What Does This Mean For Patients
If you have hip pain or stiffness after a hip replacement, endoscopic IFL might be a helpful option to relieve pain and restore function without losing hip mobility.
