Position: Medical Assistant

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour

Pay: Starting from $21 per hour commensurate with experience

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Hours: Our patient schedule starts at 7am daily. All MAs are rotated through shifts, but must be available to start some of the days during the week at 7am.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Clinic Coverage:

  • Greets and prepares patients for provider or imaging exams, recording intake information, providing appropriate gown, shorts, etc.
  • Documents in EMR
  • Administrative duties including responding to patient phone notes, providing information to patients as per set protocols, and being the liaison between patients and providers.
  • Completion of FMLA and disability paperwork.
  • Maintains exam room supply stock and keeps exam rooms clean and disinfected between patients as needed. Informs supervisor when supplies need to be reordered for supply room.
  • Prepares and sterilizes medical instruments. Cleans and disinfects medical equipment.
  • Monitors Patient Flow
  • Provides cross coverage as assigned.
  • Performs other duties in support of providers, staff, and leadership.

Patient Care:

  • May perform patient care duties (remove wound dressing, sutures, or staples) as trained and directed by providers.
  • Specimen collection, preparation, and documentation according to proper procedures including venipuncture.

Teamwork:

  • Works cooperatively with coworkers, providers, and management.
  • Shares knowledge and insights with co-workers in a constructive manner.

Education, Experience, and Certification/Licensure Required:

High School Diploma. While certification as a Medical Assistant is desired, one year of previous experience in a medical assistant role or completion of a medical assistant program required. Customer service experience required. Must maintain CPR certification.

Experience in Orthopedics preferred but not required.
