Purpose

To evaluate whether robotic-assisted computer navigation improves the accuracy of acetabular cup positioning in total hip arthroplasty (THA) among obese patients.

Methods

105 patients undergoing THA with robotic-assisted navigation were grouped by BMI (<30, 30–35, >35). Acetabular cup inclination and version were measured and compared across BMI groups.

Key Findings

  • No statistically significant differences in cup inclination or version among BMI groups.
  • Robotic navigation consistently placed cups within safe zones regardless of obesity level.

Conclusion

Robotic-assisted navigation ensures precise acetabular component placement in THA across different obesity levels.
