Background
Labral tears are a common cause of hip pain, particularly in individuals with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS). Repairing these tears through hip arthroscopy is an important option for restoring function.
Methods
This study analyzed patient-reported outcomes (PROs) after hip arthroscopy using knotless suture anchor technology to repair labral tears. The minimum follow-up was two years, assessing functional improvements and pain reduction.
Key Findings
Significant improvements were seen in the modified Harris Hip Score (mHHS), Nonarthritic Hip Score (NAHS), and Hip Outcome Score (HOS-SSS). Patients also reported lower pain levels and higher satisfaction with their hip function.
Conclusions
The use of knotless suture anchor technology for labral tear repair in FAIS provides significant functional improvements and pain relief. It is a safe and effective treatment option for patients.
What Does This Mean for Patients
If you have a labral tear and undergo arthroscopic repair using this technique, you can expect significant improvements in hip function and pain relief, leading to greater satisfaction with your recovery.
